It's been a few hours since I made my first post, so here's the second! This post is to explain a little on how I'm going to record down my progress till the 13th week. It's a pretty simple, yet nice method actually. You see, there will be a lesson every week on Web Design and Multimedia Project. Cutting down to the chase, I'll create something out of the skills I got equipped with every week, to make sure that I'm clear of what is being taught, and at the same time hand this in as homework for the weekly accessment of the Personal Development module. (: As time is currently insufficient, I've decided that I'll post the Week 3 and 4 stuffs up as soon as possible, hopefully by tomorrow. And of course, as this is a weekly accessment that I want to make to both myself and the teacher, I'll make an effort to make sure every week will be posted up with some interesting content that I've made up, to please both myself and the teacher of my progress.

This is Ernest from EI0906, this post shall be a slight introduction of what I'm going to work on to proceed to my SMART goal. The SMART goal I'm going to work towards is to score a grade A for the module Web Design and Multimedia Project (IT1756-06). The main reasons I chose this module is due to the fact that it held the most credits for our GPA this semester. At the same time, when I read over the assignments that's going to be hand over to us this semester, I realised that there's an assignment that requires us to post our progress through blogging. Thus another reason to start this goal was because I want to learn how to blog properly. I've always wanted to try blogging online, but I was never equipped with the knowledge to use HTML and Adobe Photoshop properly. However, with this module in my course, I'd be able to fully utilise what I've learnt and be able to make posts easily.
Now I'm going to talk about the history of HTML and Adobe Photoshop. HTML started off in 1980, when the guy below, named Tim Berners-Lee, proposed and protyped ENQUIRE, a system for CERN researchers to use and share documents. Then in 1989, Berners-Lee and CERN data systems engineer Robert Cailliau each submitted seperate proposals for an Internet-based hypertext system providing similar functionality. In 1991, they collaborated on a joint proposal, the WorldWideWeb(W3)project, which was then accepted by CERN. The first publicly available description of HTML was a document called HTML Tags. It was first mentioned on the Internet by Berners-Lee in late 1991.
Next is Adobe Photoshop. Adobe Photoshop is basically a graphics editing program developed and published by Adobe Systems. It first started in 1987 when Thomas Knoll, a PhD student at the University of Michigan, began writing a program on his Macintosh Plus to display grayscale images on a monochrome display. This program then caught the attention of his broter, John Knoll, an Industrial Light & Magic employee, who recommended Thomas to turn it into a full-fledged image editing program. Thomas then took a six month break from his studies in 1988 to collaborate with his brother on the program, which had been renamed ImagePro. Later that year, Thomas renamed his program Photoshop.
This post is just mainly to discuss my reasons for this SMART goal and also to briefly explain the origins of HTML and Photoshop. The next post shall be on how I'm going to note and record down my progress.
